Specialist Crane Hire Ltd is a long established and leading hirer of mobile cranes in the North West of England and, through its most recent acquisition Telford and Heartlands Crane Hire, cover has been extended to the Midlands and Wales. Originally formed in 1965 by Andrew Jardine and family owned for much of its existence, the company became part of the Crane Hire division of the Specialist Hire Group Ltd. in 2002.
The company operates over 40 truck mounted cranes, city and all terrain mobile cranes with lifting capacities from 8 to 200 tonnes. From its depots in Wigan, Lancaster, Bishop Auckland and Telford, Specialist Crane Hire provides lifting services in an area from the Scottish Borders down to the Midlands and Wales. In addition, and complimentary to the crane hire business, lorry mounted cranes with capacities up to 53 tonne metres are also available on both rigid and articulating vehicles.
With its commitment to quality, Specialist Crane Hire Ltd was one of the first companies in crane hire to obtain ISO 9002 accreditation. Operating in sectors as demanding as nuclear power and the utilities, Specialist Crane Hire has kept at the forefront of developments in safe lifting operations with all lifts being performed to BS7121. Specialist Crane Hire Ltd owns a wide range of ancillary lifting equipment to ensure the safe lifting of the most complex loads. All operators hold Construction Plant Competence Scheme certification.
Specialist Crane Hire Ltd can provide cranes under both CPA Crane Hire and Contract Lifting Model Conditions, and training in a wide range of crane related skills to NVQ levels including crane operators and slinger/signallers.
